Borodyanskiy District
1. Historical background
Borodyanka is firstly mentioned in 1190 as Kozyatuni, destroyed by
Mongol — Tatars in 1240, and later restored.
Name Borodyanka is firstly mentioned in the document of polish king in
1509, where the right for the town of the noblemen Makarovuchi is
determined.
In 1866 Borodyanska volost was created, in 1932 Borodyanka became a District center.

Borodyanskuy District is situated in north — west part of Kiev oblast.
In geographical respect the territory of the District belongs to
the Podil lowland and is a terrace zone of Dnieper river and its
tributaries.
Hydrographic limit of the District is represented by Zdvuzh river
with tributaries and right tributaries of Teteriv river. Total length
of a hydrographic net is nearly 500,0 km, the square of water sources —
1378,4 hectares.
